A sedan traveling eastbound on Ridge came to the intersection of ridge and climax. The driver of the sedan then made a left turn to proceed on to upper ridge but apparently, due to the low sun, could not see any oncoming traffic. A crane truck traveling westbound on Climax had no time to stop his rig and struck the sedan broadside plowing the car to the edge of the roadside and then rolling the truck on its side.

An eye witness that was stopped at the Ridge/Climax intersection indicated that he saw the truck and then the car turn in front of it. The force of the impact on the passenger side was substantial and the truck proceeded down the road and rolled on its side.

The female passenger was taken to the hospital but efforts to revive her failed and she was declared diseased at Sutter Amador.
