New Fire Chief Hired.
The City has hired Marc Crain to be its first full-time Fire Chief using Measure M funds approved by voters in 2008. As a "working chief", Chief Crain will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the department, as well as direct involvement in emergency response services. Former volunteer Fire Chief Mark Morton will remain on the department as a volunteer Deputy Fire Chief.

Monday August 23rd two fire chiefs were honored during the Jackson City Council Meeting.
Chief Marc Crain was sworn in as the new "working" fire chief for Jackson and Chief Mark Morton was honored for his service to the city as the volunteer fire chief for the past years.
Chief Morton also presented Chief Crain with his new Jackson Fire Department badge and Chief Morton was presented with a plaque from the fire department members.
